When we first initiated the conversation, there was a lot of apprehension within the rank and file employees. Solis is skilled at looking for value inside the company and “between the numbers.” They find management that can produce growth and increase value. Whereas most private equity firms just look at the numbers and are ready to blame management when something goes wrong, Solis works with management to understand the company and work through issues as they occur. They are very focused on solid growth.

We work together very well. Of course we have differences of opinion, but we welcome the outside perspective. Often they come in with an idea, and we think, “Why didn’t we come up with this?”

Solis is confident enough to have an open door policy with their investors calling us directly for updates – this demonstrates a lot of trust on their part.

We know first hand of a lot of companies involved with investors where the relationships have not gone well, some having nightmare experiences.
